About the course

Study psychological theory, human development and the evaluation of evidence about behaviour and experience. The proposed outline connects academic psychology with ethically supervised applied learning. Southern African cases should consider language, culture, social conditions and access to support, without treating any community as psychologically uniform.

Requirements

Recommended preparation includes mathematics, the relevant natural sciences, academic English and computer literacy. BMIT must confirm the approved admission route, any bridging study and recognition of prior learning. Source institutions retain their own admission rules. This outline does not assign a duration, credit total or qualification-framework level.

Practical application

Applied psychological work requires an approved programme, qualified supervision and a defined learner role. Learners must not diagnose or provide unsupervised psychological services. Human-participant research needs ethics approval. The BPsych title alone does not establish eligibility for psychologist registration or another specific professional category.
